About Motherly Love
Every mother deserves to feel seen, valued, supported, and reminded that she doesn’t have to navigate motherhood alone.
Founded in 2019, Motherly Love is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting mothers throughout their journey of motherhood. From pregnancy, adoption, labor, and postpartum recovery to breastfeeding, unexpected hardships, and the challenges of raising a family—even into the young adult years—we strive to ensure the mother feels like a priority in her own journey.
We believe every mother’s experience is unique, and so is the support she may need. Whether a mother is searching for practical assistance, encouragement, resources, guidance, or simply meaningful connection with others who understand, our goal is to create a space where she feels seen, valued, and supported.
Our team is made up of mothers from all walks and seasons of life—from women currently navigating the day-to-day realities of motherhood to mothers whose children are now adults. Each brings her own experiences, challenges, and perspective to the organization, creating a community rooted in compassion, understanding, and the belief that motherhood was never meant to be done alone.
Our Story
Motherly Love was founded in 2019 by Brooke Parker, whose passion for supporting mothers was shaped by experiences within her own family. After witnessing the complications her mother experienced with postpartum preeclampsia—and how easily a mother’s own care and recovery could become overlooked—Brooke recognized a need for greater attention to the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of mothers after delivery.
That experience helped shape a belief that remains at the heart of Motherly Love today: when a baby is born, the mother still needs to be cared for, too.
What began with a focus on the postpartum season soon grew into practical ways of caring for mothers. Motherly Love began providing postpartum care packages and developed the Tiny but Mighty Program to support mothers with babies in the NICU. Brooke’s heart for serving others and her desire to share the love of Jesus through compassionate service helped establish the foundation on which Motherly Love was built.
I was involved with Motherly Love during those early years as the organization’s treasurer. In 2022, as Brooke faced increasing responsibilities in her own life, she began considering whether it was time to dissolve the organization.
But I couldn’t shake one thought: mothers still needed this.
Too often, after a baby is born, everyone’s attention shifts to the baby while the mother quietly becomes an afterthought. Her physical recovery, emotional well-being, changing identity, and need for support can easily be overlooked. I believed mothers deserved to remain a priority in their own journey, and I didn’t want to see a resource created specifically for them disappear.
In January 2023, I assumed leadership of Motherly Love and began carrying its mission forward. As a mother of five, I understand personally how much motherhood can ask of a woman—not only after giving birth, but throughout the many seasons that follow. Having someone notice you, check on you, offer practical support, or simply remind you that you matter can make an incredible difference.
Over time, the vision for Motherly Love has continued to grow beyond its postpartum roots. While caring for mothers during pregnancy, birth, postpartum recovery, and the NICU experience remains an important part of our history, our broader vision is to support mothers throughout the many seasons of motherhood through connection, encouragement, practical assistance, community, and resources developed around their real needs.
Today, Motherly Love is in another season of growth and reflection. Our direct programs are temporarily paused due to funding limitations while we thoughtfully reevaluate our services, strengthen the organization, and determine how we can make the greatest impact with the resources entrusted to us.
Though Motherly Love has grown and leadership has changed since its beginning, we remain grateful for Brooke’s vision and the foundation she created in 2019. The organization continues to carry forward the heart behind that original vision while growing to meet the needs of mothers in every season.
Mothers matter. Mothers deserve to be supported. And mothers deserve a village, too.
